Born in Malaysia, Dr. Ara was awarded a merit-based scholarship to study Medicine at Liverpool University Medical School in the United Kingdom. 20 years later, after training in Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Functional Medicine and Acupuncture, he is a highly sought after sports physician on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and has worked with some the biggest names in tennis, golf, cycling, baseball, basketball, and multiple Olympic medalists
Dr. Ara is the Chief Medical Analyst for NBC Sports’ Golf Channel, Chief Medical officer for Orrico, medical advisor and contributor for Golf Digest, 4D motion and Isagenix. He was the official team physician for the 2016 and 2018 US Ryder Cup Team.
Dr. Ara continues to maintain his positions as a practicing ER Physician at Florida Hospital, Chief Wellness Officer for Florida Emergency Physician and as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine at the University of Central Florida Medical School."
